"A seed hidden in the heart of an apple is an orchard invisible." This ancient Celtic proverb underscores a unique paradox of faith: There is a vital connection between the unseen and the seen.
Tree roots that are underground may be hidden but the leaves, flowers and fruits they produce are not. We believe our realtionship with God is similar. To catch a glimpse of how we are becoming the Gospel one needs to look at how we go about "Sharing the Gospel." Perhaps the best way to understand the material that follows is to think of our efforts to help each person discover his or her own ministry and the various ways we share in mission as the leaves, flowers, and fruits that come from being rooted in God.
You and your ministry relate to one another in the same way that Rembrandt related to his paints or Stevie Ray Vaughn related to his guitar. Ministry is the act of allowing God's presence to flow through your life in totally unique way. To help each person explore and embrace the special way of sharing life with God we provide a Program Support Team (PST). You can read more about the Program Support Team by clicking on their link under the Individual Ministry heading.
What do you do however, if your ministry grows? Sometimes a ministry will grow into a mission. A mission is a cause, program, or event that attracts many people, all of which use their capacity for ministry toward a common end. Under the link entitled 'Shared Mission' is the most up to date list of all 'shared missions' of First Christian Church. You can read about each of the shared mission you will find there as well as information about how to get involved with them yourself.
