Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" is the classic story of redemption, transformation, hope, life and new opportunity.  It is the story of a second chance.  To this end, Scrooge becomes the archetype of Christmas.  He is the reason for Christmas even as he is the result of the birth of Christmas in the human heart.  If we will be honest with ourselves, Scrooge's story is our story with all of its potential, lost chances, self-awareness and  new opportunity.

"A Christmas Carol" is a free annual production of this beloved tale put on at First Christian Church the weekend before Thanksgiving.  2012 marks the 10th anniversary of this production that is a favorite in the community.  Each year different people attend the production based on the people who are in the play and the volunteers that work behind the scenes.

Dickens challenges each of us by ending his story with the description of a new Scrooge: "And it was always said of him that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge."  May that be truly said of us, and all of us.

If you are ever looking for a great way to share the 'be and to share the gospel' message with someone else: look no more!

God Bless us Everyone!

Each year, the Christmas Carol production
